HOW DO I CHOOSE MY CBD OIL SUPPLIER?

HOW DO I CHOOSE MY CBD OIL SUPPLIER?

A range of CBD oil products are available – also known as hemp oil, hash oil, butane hash oil (BHO), and Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) – make sure you make an informed choice about what you ingest, that you choose a top quality product, and that you have realistic expectations of the benefits you can expect.

First and foremost, when choosing CBD oil in South Africa, it’s important to know what kind of cannabinoids it contains, as those will determine the results you get. Hemp oil which you may purchase at your local pharmacy (also available at pharmacy chain stores like Clicks and Dischem) or health store, is not the type of cannabis oil we are referring to, but an oil made from cold pressed hemp seeds. It does not contain the necessary THC or CBD properties required for medicinal treatment.

If you compare the production of CBD oil with something like olive oil or wine making, you’ll know that quality starts right from what you put into the soil, through to growing the plant to finally what is extracted. In short – what you put in is what you get out.

Ask The Right Questions!!

Grade of cannabis used:

It should be medical grade and ideally organic cannabis, not cheap marijuana.

Flowers only:

The desired ingredients of the CBD oil come from the flowers (top quality buds) only, not plant matter, trim, seeds or stalks.

Use of pesticides:

Pay special attention to the use of pesticides and whether they have been used during the growing process as certain patients may be more susceptible to their toxic effects. Is your supplier’s products grown organically?

Colour of the CBD oil:

The oil should be honey-coloured, almost transparent, not black goo, or green. This is the best indicator of the quality of the oils you are planning on taking.

Extraction methods:

It’s important to know that all solvents used in the process have been properly purged.
